ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
Southgate has been England boss since 2016 after he took over following the resignation of Sam Allardyce. The 53-year-old has yet to win a trophy with the Three Lions, but the side have been seeing an upward trajectory as they reached the final of the 2020 Euro and the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup.

WHAT BULLINGHAM SAID
Speaking to media, Bullingham said: "I have said before that any organisation really has a succession plan in place for their top employees and we are no different to that. This succession plan normally includes everything from what you do for short-term cover, through to a process you follow to candidates. We have that for top employees. That’s the same that we have."
He added: “Have we spoken to any potential replacements? No.”

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Bullingham was questioned about the possibility of appointing a non-English manager at the helm of the Three Lions. He noted in his response that Sarina Wiegman, the head coach of the England women's team, is Dutch.
Bullingham stated: "We have two senior coaches; one of them is English [Southgate] and the other is not [Wiegman]. A pool of elite domestic players and managers would be desirable to any federation in the world at all times."

WHAT NEXT FOR ENGLAND?
The Three Lions will take on Serbia at Arena AufSchalke on June 16 to begin their Euro 2024 campaign, which could end up being Southgate's last tournament.
